Over the past few weeks, we have been working hard to develop a plan for safe re-entry to the school in accordance with the Alert Level 2 guidelines provided by the New Zealand Ministry of Health.
The following precautions will be in place when we return to the centre:
- Class sizes will be reduced to a maximum of 10 students per group and classroom furniture will be arranged to ensure physical distancing of 1 metre
- Class times will be staggered to limit traffic flow in shared school spaces as well as contact between groups. We are working closely with other building tenants to manage all timetables for the entire building
- The school will close after classes end and students will continue to participate in special focus classes, clubs and activities via our online learning platform, EC Virtual
- Use of kitchen facilities will be managed to ensure social distancing and student common rooms will be temporarily closed
- Additional cleaning will focus on frequently-touched areas such as door handles and computer keyboards
