Located just two hours west of Toronto, in London Ontario, King’s University College is a Catholic, co-educational institution affiliated with Western University. London is Canada’s 10th largest city with a population of just over 350,000 and is known as the ‘forest city’ due to the extensive forests, green spaces, over 200 parks and many kilometers of bike trails running throughout.
With approximately 3,200 Canadian and 270 international students, 170 full-time and 100 part-time faculty, staff and professional and administrative officers, King’s is committed to the ongoing creation of a vital academic community animated by a Christian love of learning and the pursuit of truth. The college strives to foster an environment based on open inquiry, Christian values and service to the larger community.
Founded in 1954, King’s has undergone a couple of name changes and has formally been known as: Christ the King College (1954-1966) and King’s College (1966-2004). King’s provides degree programs in the liberal arts, social sciences, childhood and social institutions, social justice and peace studies, social work as well as its Master of Social Work program. It is renowned as a centre of teaching excellence; positioned in the top rank of institutions of higher learning in Canada for the quality of its teaching faculty. Not only do its faculty teach remarkably well, but their scholarship continues to enhance King’s reputation as one of Canada’s first-class undergraduate campuses. Upon graduation, students are granted their degree from Western University.
Small classes, intensive student-faculty interaction, quality programs, comprehensive student services and a sense of community create an excellent environment for students. When combined with Western’s superior reputation for student satisfaction and their world class facilities, King’s offers ‘the best of both worlds’.
