Trent’s Peterborough campus boasts award-winning architecture in a breathtaking natural setting on the banks of the Otonabee River, just 90 minutes from downtown Toronto. Together with Trent University Oshawa Thornton Road Campus, Trent draws excellent students from throughout the country and around the world.
On campus and around the globe, Trent’s researchers are involved in studies of global significance. Trent’s Water Quality Centre houses the world’s leading state-of-the-art instrumentation and is at the core of the Chemical Sciences Building, while the university’s new Life and Health Sciences Building has put the university at the centre of a regional life sciences economic cluster. Trent’s First Peoples House of Learning is a tangible representation of the university’s leading role in establishing North America’s first Indigenous Studies programs.
Trent’s key areas of research priority include biological and forensic sciences; Canadian and Indigenous studies; cultural studies and the humanities; education, health and sustainability; environmental science, materials science and quantitative modelling; and understanding people, communities and institutions. Trent is home to nine Canada Research Chairs.
A vibrant international program at Trent is home to an increasingly diverse community of students from all corners of the globe. In the last year, Trent has welcomed 550 students from more than 100 countries.
