Next is COVID-19 news. Our prime minister announced today that we will stay in level four lockdown For one more week and next Monday the 27th at midnight we will move to level three.
We are not able to open our school safely at level three and we will continue with online classes. However after two weeks at level three the government will revisit and if we are doing well we may move to level two after that. We will be able to move back into our school building for face-to-face classes in level two. As a country New Zealand has done really well concerning COVID-19. All of the indicators; infections, deaths, community transmission and rate of transmission per infected person are all really low compared to most countries. We talked about our team of 5 million people and we have done well. That’s the good news for today. Thanks to everyone for your support. Together we can get through this.
Yesterday our prime minister spoke and gave us the details about life in New Zealand under level two. When the decision is made to move from level 3 to level 2 we will be able to move back into our school building and continue our classes on site. Life in NZ will start to return to normal and we can pop our bubbles. Most businesses will be able to open and operate under safety guidelines. She will announce next Monday when we will move to level two. It maybe Wednesday midnight next week and if so we will start classes Monday the 18th at our school building. We have prepared the school to operate under level two with some social distancing at 1 m/ student. But it seems that groups of less than 100 are permitted inside. So we are all set and ready to move in when we are allowed.
